Permaculture.
Permaculture is not just about gardening. It is much more. It is a philosophy of interdependence. It is the intentional creation of a web of symbiotic relationships with man at the center (from his perspective.) It is the restoring of man’s bonds to his surroundings, and by no means a suspension of his rationing capabilities. It is man’s search for his place in nature.
Look at the “Pests” in your life, and understand how they function within the greater web of life. Through this knowledge man can design his own relationship with the rest of creation.
All elements must be considered, for that is the purpose of man’s gift of Mind. To place himself within the greater whole. Other species function majorly on a biological level, accepting their preconditioned biochemical reflexes.
But with man’s gift of mind and his ability to make decisions based on his own logic instead of solely upon his instincts, comes the responsibility to place himself- based off his own understanding- into the rest of his being; his ‘being’ being the rest of existence from which he has, possibly inadvertently, separated himself thus forth.
